We've all waited too long for this! Pro Yakyuu Spirits 2010 is the latest in a long tradition of interesting baseball games from Japan. Games such as World Series Baseball, Gekikuukan Pro Baseball, Nichibeikan Pro Baseball: Final League, Jikkyo Powerful Pro Yakyu baseball and finally the original Pro Yakyuu Spirits 2004. Over the past 6 years I've had to sit and look at all the amazing screen shots and videos of PYS and it was killing me because I couldn't play it!

I waited and waited, with each year passing hoping they would release an English version of the game. It's Konami afterall who made English versions of their great PES soccer games so anytime now they will do the same for PYS right?. Well I was wrong and got tired of waiting, and one way or another I was going to figure out how to play the game! So I read some translations over here, some translations over there and tried to piece things together but it was frustrating. I was surprised to find no PYS hub existed for American players so I created one!

I ended up finding this guy named 'Muka' who had been helping people play the game with his various translations. So I contacted & informed him that I knew something about web design and asked him if I put up a site would he sign on as the translator? He welcomed the idea without hesitation so we were off and running right away. He has been an absolute joy to work with and his response to all my questions came immediately. So what you are seeing here is an experienced player walking me (a noob) through this game and whatever I learned I posted it on the site.

We both have jobs, women, kids and lives outside of this game so the project ended up taking months. This included alot of back & forth communication and confirmations so I thank Muka for his patience and kindness! I really wanted to see this site written in such a way that a 5th grader with learning disabilities could learn how to play it, and I think we accomplished that. Is every single word translated? No, but they don't need to be and all the main points are covered. The language barrier is gone, there is no more excuse for not buying this game so welcome and play ball!
