MANAGER COMMANDS - DEFENSE

TEAM APPROACH - DEFENSE
These appear when the side changes and it's your turn to pitch. Each batter in the inning will then follow this approach unless you press 'Square' to specifically give the pitcher a different command.

Don't Give Command

Throw strikes: Pitcher tries to throw strikes as much as possible. It is dangerous against aggressive hitters but it is very effective against the Patient Approach

Throw balls: Pitcher tries to pitch carefully, throwing many balls to tease the hitters. It is useful against aggressive hitters, but you will fall behind and be in danger against hitters using the Patient Approach.

Go for strikeout: Go for the strikeout aggressively, but it could lead to making a costly mistake (that explains why Hit for power is good against this command). It is effective against Hit for Contact. Because the pitcher is concentrated on striking out the batter, he becomes vulnerable to base stealers.

Pitch to contact: Try to get the batter to hit the ball weakly for an out. Because of that the chance of the ball being a hit is also high. Effective against "Hit for power".

Mound visit (2 left): The coach will try to calm down the pitcher. Useful when the pitcher is shaken. Can be used twice a game.
Go for decisive blow (1 left): Motivate your player during the most important moment of the game. Only can be used once per game.
